A Turn-Based Space 4X Strategy Game
About the Game
Shattered Spheres is a love letter to the golden age of space strategy — an era when 4X games trusted you to think without demanding you manage every last detail of every last colony.
Explore a living galaxy where planets orbit their stars in real time. Expand your empire across dozens of systems. Crush your rivals through military conquest or diplomatic cunning. The stars are yours to claim — if you're willing to do what it takes.
Planets orbit their stars every turn. Positioning and timing matter in ways no other space 4X has attempted.
Classic empire-scale decisions, stripped of the complexity that drove you away from modern 4X titles.
Dominate the galaxy through military conquest or build a coalition of allies powerful enough to end the war diplomatically.
Each race reshapes how the game is played, from the self-replicating Mechanoids to the relentlessly expanding Insectoids.
Choose Your Empire
Every race brings a distinct strategic identity — and a meaningful cost. Choose the civilization that matches how you want to play, then master its limitations.
The balanced foundation. No advantages, no disadvantages — just skill and strategy, unmodified. Always begins on a fertile Terran world.
BalancedShips require no supply lines. Biology research yields diminishing returns beyond the first level. Cold, efficient, relentless. Starts on a Barren world.
Supply-FreeVolcanic and toxic worlds are paradise. Ice and barren worlds are purgatory. An empire shaped entirely by geography. Starts on a Volcanic world.
Terrain SpecialistRepair and Biology technologies are intertwined. Ships are living organisms — armor is ineffective, but all vessels passively regenerate one hull point per turn out of combat.
Organic ShipsPopulation grows at twice the normal rate. Upkeep costs rise by 50% to match. Ship production accelerated by 25%. They win by arriving everywhere at once.
Overwhelming NumbersOcean worlds yield double bonuses with no penalties. Ships suffer reduced engine effectiveness due to mass — a disadvantage that fades with Propulsion research. Starts on an Ocean world.
Ocean MastersScience and Intelligence technologies are linked — advance one, advance both. Diplomacy costs less. Reputation improves passively. Production suffers. They know. They plan. They wait.
DiplomaticStrip a planet of all resources for a single massive burst of production and research. The world becomes a Husk — barren, uninhabitable, and unforgettable. Some empires leave monuments. You leave scars.
Scorched Earth"You are what remains of humanity's ambition. Act accordingly."

How It Plays
— 01
Planets move. Every turn, worlds complete a portion of their orbit — faster if small and close, slower if large and distant. The map you plan around is never the map you fight on.
— 02
Design your own vessels and iterate them over time. New versions earn designations — MK II, MK III, and beyond — and older ships can be retrofitted at any spaceyard for the cost difference.
— 03
Ships consume supply modules during interstellar travel. Friendly planets replenish your fleets. The Logistics technology tree reduces dependency — until the Replicator module removes it entirely.
— 04
From Beam Weapons and Kinetics to Biology, Intelligence, and Terraforming — ten levels of advancement in each category, with meaningful benefits at every step.
— 05
Transform hostile worlds into viable colonies. At maximum technology, even the Husk planets left behind by Parasitic empires can be coaxed back to life — slowly, at great cost.
— 06
Every empire tracks your actions. Aggression breeds hostility. Gifts buy goodwill. Intelligence operations can turn rivals against each other. Your reputation precedes your fleets.
